Maserati gears up for Philippine market launch
Top Gear Philippines, 8 Feb '10
Italian luxury carmaker Maserati has announced that it will enter the Philippine market later this year. Maserati S.p.A. recently appointed Formula Sports, Inc., owned by the same group that distributes Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles, as the country's exclusive importer and distributor of Maserati cars. Maserati will mark its entrance to the Philippines with the local introduction of the 4.7-litre variants of the Quattroporte sedan and the GranTurismo coupe. The brand has not been officially launched but Formula Sports executive director Marc Soong said this has not stopped Maserati enthusiasts from getting their hands on the Italian luxury cars - at least figuratively, for now. "We're happy that the feedback on Maserati's Philippine arrival has been very positive. As a matter of fact, we've already pre-sold most of the units that we've ordered and we're still getting a lot of inquiries for the few units that are still available," Soong said.
