Earlier in 2025, the distributor of GWM Philippines, Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc. (LAGI), presented the Haval H9 at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show.
The full-size SUV, powered by a turbo-diesel engine, is positioned to compete in the seven-seat body-on-frame segment.
Several months following its preview, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) granted regulatory approval for the Haval H9, supporting its anticipated launch in the Philippines.
GWM Philippines has subsequently released a new teaser image of the upcoming turbo-diesel SUV.
According to the company's social media post, the vehicle is designed for extended journeys and is "ready for the road ahead".
Further specifications have not yet been disclosed, although the manufacturer confirmed that a full reveal will occur shortly.
The LTO Memorandum Circular for the new SUV identifies the model as the Haval H9 AWD 9AT, confirming its nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system.
It is equipped with a 2,390cc turbo-diesel engine, corresponding to a 2.4-litre displacement. This indicates that it is likely to share the same engine as the refreshed Cannon pickup, which produces 186 PS and 480 Nm of torque.
Interior features have not been fully detailed; however, the initial preview indicated equipment such as a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, tan leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and three seating rows arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration.
With GWM Philippines indicating the Haval H9's imminent debut, the model is expected to be officially revealed in the first quarter of 2026.
