Astra Honda Motor launches CT125 moped in Indonesia

Astra Honda Motor (AHM) has launched the Honda CT125 moped. The CT125 has been developed from the Super Cub, which is not only for urban use, but also for various outdoor activities .
This concept was shown through the Honda CA100T Trail 50, which was launched in 1961 to meet the demand for motorbikes that can accompany traveling to the mountains or guarding large agricultural lands, as well as accompanying hobbies such as camping and fishing.
In 1964, the name CT was born and was first used in Honda CT200 Trail 90. In 2020, a product that has been legendary for nearly 60 years was redesigned with the latest modern perspective and equipped with the latest technology through Honda CT125.
Honda CT125 is designed to be a driving partner in trekking fields to fun destinations, such as camping, fishing, or touring to enjoy nature. Using a rigid and lightweight frame, the rear frame of this model is made longer to accommodate luggage.
The 125cc engine that produces large torque and embedding ABS brakes on the Honda CT125 provides an increasingly different driving experience.
Toshiyuki Inuma, president director, AHM said that Honda CT125 is an icon of trekking motorcycle with a tough and timeless design, equipped with modern technology embedding. This model was introduced for those who want a motorbike that is comfortable to use in urban areas and tough when touring.
"The Honda CT125 is here to expand the unique motorbike pleasure not only in urban environments but also for various outdoor activities . With a pleasant engine performance and a variety of functional features, this model is ready to accompany various lifestyles of the rider, "he said in a press statement.
Executive vice president director of AHM, Johannes Loman said that AHM is trying to meet the needs of premium consumers for an iconic motorbike that accommodates the owner's desire to be different and can be used in cities or long-distance driving to enjoy nature.
"We see the high public interest in trekking motorcycles . Through the Honda CT125, the rider can express a variety of lifestyles in various road conditions in a relaxed and pleasant manner. The whole embodiment of this lifestyle is supported by after-sales service throughout the Honda Big Wing network and Wing dealers. "
The CT125 is equipped with a 125cc, PGM-FI, 4 stroke and air-cooled engine that is able to provide a pleasant response in urban areas as well as a motorbike driving experience for trekking and touring. This motorbike has a bore and stroke of 52.4 x 57.9mm with a compression ratio of 9.3: 1. The maximum power produced is 6.5kW at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 11 Nm at 4,500 rpm.
On the design side, the CT125 brings a blend of modern lifestyle and functionality to its entire body. The round headlamp design combined with the turn signal box design is the hallmark of the Honda CT. The exhaust of this model is designed higher to maintain the character of a trekking motorcycle that gives a strong impression. The iron front fender adds to the tough look of this model.
The functional side can be seen from the position of the intake duct that is positioned high to reduce incoming dust. On the back of the driver's seat, there is a large place to put the rider's luggage, with a maximum capacity of 20 kg.
The handlebar provides a natural driving position that is easy to control and enhances an upright riding position where the rider gets excellent visibility in all directions.
The abundant and functional features are present to complement the motorbike that is the icon of this trekking moped. For lighting, the Honda CT125 adopts an LED system in all lighting features. The panel meter is digital and compact with a round design that looks modern while making it easy to read the information displayed.
This motorbike has a large tank with a capacity of 5.3L to accompany the rider on long distance driving.
The CT125 has a net weight of 120 kg, is equipped with a telescopic front suspension and 17 inch rims to support more stable and precise handling. The front and rear tires of this model measure 80/90. For safety riding, it is equipped with dual disc brakes and 1-channel ABS on the front wheels.
The moped comes in Glowing Red colour which is marketed in DKI Jakarta with selling price of IDR 75 million (US$ 5,042) on the road Jakarta. This model is marketed exclusively throughout the Honda Big Wing network and Wing dealers.
