Dongfeng Motors showcases electric vehicle lineup at SIEW 2025
Cleantechnica, 4 Nov '25
Dongfeng Motors presented its electric vehicle portfolio at the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2025, where its distributor, Volt Auto, served as the event's official car sponsor.
The company's participation aligned with its ongoing expansion in Singapore's electric vehicle market.
Singapore's electric vehicle market has expanded in response to government policy, particularly the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which requires all new car registrations to be cleaner-energy models from 2030 onwards.
The policy has influenced consumer interest in electric vehicles, although adoption rates continue to depend on several factors, including vehicle pricing, charging infrastructure availability, and driving-range capabilities.
Dongfeng entered the Singapore market in Q4 2024 with the launch of the Box electric hatchback.
Dongfeng Vigo
The Vigo is a fully electric crossover SUV, known in other markets as the Nammi 06. The Vigo has an exterior with LED lighting and a dual-section "Heaven and Earth" tailgate (a split tailgate similar to those used on certain European SUVs), designed to support loading and unloading in restricted urban spaces.
It is powered by a motor producing approximately 120 kW (163 PS), with battery options of up to around 52 kWh, providing a CLTC range of more than 470 km.
The interior includes a 12.8-inch central display, seating with heating and ventilation for the driver in higher trims, and Level 2 ADAS.
Dongfeng 007
The 007, an electric liftback sedan unveiled approximately one week before SIEW 2025, was also displayed. The model features a claimed range of 600 to 1,200 kilometres based on China's CLTC testing cycle.
Also known as the Dongfeng e pi 007, it is positioned within the medium-to-large electric liftback segment. It is built on the Quantum architecture platform and includes a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant capable of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, supported by a 400 kW (544 PS) output.
The model has a drag coefficient of 0.209 Cd and a battery enabling a CLTC range of approximately 540 km for the performance variant.
A single-motor rear-wheel-drive variant offers up to 620 km of range, and a range-extended electric vehicle (EREV) version provides a total range of 1,200 km.
The 007 includes an SOA Intelligent Cockpit powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, with a 15.6-inch central control screen and an 8.8-inch flippable digital instrument panel. The exterior includes frameless doors and an active electric rear spoiler.
It is equipped with driver-assistance systems supporting L2+ autonomous driving functions. The 007 is Dongfeng's entry into the premium performance electric vehicle segment, where it competes with electric sedans from both legacy automotive manufacturers and EV-focused brands.
Charging infrastructure
Volt Auto has entered into a partnership with Charge+, which operates Singapore's largest EV charging network.
Under this arrangement, purchasers of the Dongfeng Box receive three years of charging credits totalling up to 6,000 kWh, usable across Charge+'s network in Singapore and Malaysia.
Charge+ is developing a regional charging network that includes a planned 5,000-kilometre EV charging corridor connecting Singapore to Hanoi.
Charging accessibility continues to be a factor affecting electric vehicle adoption in the region.
Volt Auto manages distribution, sales, and after-sales services for Dongfeng vehicles in Singapore, with operations comprising retail outlets and service centres.
