Chinese vehicle manufacturer FAW Changan has entered the Bangladesh market, unveiling its range of microbuses and pickups at a press conference on Saturday, according to a company press release.
The company said its initial market entry will focus on conventional fuel-powered models, while electric and hybrid versions are planned for introduction in the future. FAW Changan also said it aims to offer vehicles at competitive prices while meeting international standards.
As part of its longer-term plans for Bangladesh, the company intends to establish an assembly plant in the country, alongside local investment and employment creation. It said these activities are expected to contribute to economic development and the country's export sector.
At the inauguration ceremony, the company's chairman and managing director said, "We are not just bringing vehicles, but creating a means to move the people of Bangladesh forward. FAW CHANGAN will be a 'symbol of trust and reliability.'"
