Taiwan's Foxconn has begun operations at an electric vehicle research and development centre in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou, the local government said on 5th February.
The complex, located next to automaker BYD's Zhengzhou factory, will focus on next-generation electric and electrical architecture as well as smart driving technology, the Henan provincial government said on its social media account, citing Li Guangyao, general manager of a Henan-based Foxconn subsidiary.
The new centre began operations on 4th February and is set to cut the production cycle for new vehicle models to 24 months, Li said.
