Giti Tire, established in 1951 in Singapore, has expanded its global presence over the decades. The company now operates in more than 130 countries, employs over 28,000 people, and runs five manufacturing plants across the United States, China, and Indonesia. It also maintains research and development centres in Germany, the United States, China, and Indonesia.
In recent years, Giti Tire has ranked among the ten most valuable tyre brands worldwide and has been cited as one of the fastest-growing names in the sector. The brand supplies original equipment (OE) tyres to more than 300 passenger car models and 375 truck and bus models globally.
Giti Tire has formally re-entered the Philippine market through an exclusive partnership with Power Tractire Inc. (PTTI). The launch event was attended by more than 50 dealer partners from across the country, with several placing initial orders during the programme.
Giti and PTTI have distributed thousands of tyres through their nationwide network to ensure stock availability for authorised dealers.
Established in 1996, PTTI supports more than 300 dealer partners nationwide and operates 30,000 square metres of warehouse facilities strategically located to serve both urban and provincial markets.
For the Philippine market, Giti Tire is introducing products for passenger cars, SUVs, and all-terrain vehicles, including sizes suitable for electric vehicles (EVs). Globally, Giti supplies OE tyres to manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Ford, Isuzu, BYD, Geely, GAC, and Changan. A number of these models are electric vehicles, which require tyres designed to manage additional battery weight and instant torque delivery.
Giti aims to position its products as globally engineered tyres offered at a mid-range price point for the local market.
In the Philippines, Chinese automotive brands such as BYD, Geely, and GAC have recorded increasing sales volumes. As an original equipment tyre supplier to several of these manufacturers, Giti may benefit from this growth.
The company also participates in global motorsport activities and conducts performance testing under high-demand conditions. Giti tyres have been used in performance applications, including programmes such as the Yangwang U9 developed by BYD's premium sub-brand.
Giti Tire's return to the Philippine market through its partnership with PTTI marks a renewed effort to expand its presence in the country's automotive sector.
