Honda Thailand to hold car prices till April 6th despite 2026 excise tax

On February 2nd, 2026, Honda Automobile Thailand announced that it would maintain current prices across its entire model range until April 6th, 2026, despite the introduction of the new excise tax for automobiles in 2026.
Honda has also announced a promotional campaign titled "Honda Pro Ta-Dung," which provides fixed pricing and defined purchase conditions.
The campaign includes benefits valued at up to THB 85,000 (US$ 2,690), financing options with a 0% interest rate, or instalment plans starting from THB 2,500 per month for a maximum tenure of 84 months. The promotion applies to bookings made between February 1st, 2026 and April 6th, 2026, with vehicle delivery required by April 10th, 2026.
Overview of the new excise tax structure for automobiles in 2026
The revised excise tax structure for automobiles, effective January 1st, 2026, applies a taxation framework based on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, domestic production and component usage criteria and vehicle safety parameters.
The changes have resulted in higher tax rates across several vehicle categories.
- Vehicles emitting no more than 100 grams of carbon dioxide (CO2) per km are taxed at 4% in 2025, increasing to 6% in 2026. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in this emissions category are also taxed at 6%.
- Internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles emitting 100 grams of carbon dioxide (CO2) per km are taxed at 12% in 2025 and 13% in 2026.
- Vehicles with carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions between 101 g/km and 120 g/km are taxed at 8% in 2025 and 9% in 2026, including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
- Vehicles with carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions between 121 g/km and 150 g/km are taxed at 8% in 2025 and 14% in 2026, including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
