Astra Honda Motor (AHM) has introduced Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade in Indonesia. Present as the epicentre of the total control philosophy, this high-performance supersport motorbike provides perfect control and an adrenaline-pumping driving sensation like a MotoGP motorbike that can be used on the road.
Inspired by the Honda RC213V MotoGP and RC213V-S, the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade carries the aerodynamic and aggressive design of the Honda supersport motorbike, and brings a new level of performance to the most powerful 4-cylinder engine with the same configuration as the Honda RC213V.
All the features applied to this model also rely on the engine and chassis technology that supports the sensation of riding on the circuit.
President Director of PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM), Toshiyuki Inuma said the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is the best supersport motorbike for the Honda CBR series, which was designed with performance and a wealth of features that had never existed before for a motorbike that is ready to be ridden on the road or on the circuit.
"We present the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade with complete perfection for big bike lovers in Indonesia, especially speed lovers, because we realize that there are consumers who want the best-featured motorbikes, and want to experience the maximum riding sensation on the circuit," said Toshiyuki Inuma, in a press statement.
Executive Vice President Director of AHM, Johannes Loman said the presence of the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is supported by Honda Big Wing dealer network that is ready to provide premium services.
The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade has an aggressive design with minimal frontal area for added aerodynamics. Almost all parts are created to get maximum downforce when accelerating, braking and maneuvering.
The full LED headlight is sharper, emphasizing the futuristic impression. There is a winglet that is lowered from the Honda RC213V to increase downforce, keep the motorbike stable when accelerating, or go fast when exiting a corner.
Not only that, the DNA of the racing motorbike is also reflected in the application of the air-ram duct (air hole) on the front which flows fresh air directly to the airbox. The fuel tank cover is designed so that the rider can get the most ideal position to reduce wind resistance.
The main chassis of the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade uses aluminum material, hugging the engine better to improve driving agility. The wheelbase was made longer, namely 1,455 mm (previously 1,405 mm), for the sake of stability when traveling at high speeds.
The sensation of racy is obtained from the new riding position. The handlebars are more advanced, while the footsteps are made more and more up and back. All information on the panel meter is indicated by a full digital version of the TFT screen, five display modes can be selected according to the tastes and needs of the rider.
Of course it's not just design, the main advantage of the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is performance. To maintain high power performance balanced with ease of control, this model was developed with various changes.
The inline 999.9 cc DOHC four-cylinder engine has had many improvements over the previous generation. This engine configuration is exactly the same as the RC213V (bore x stroke: 81 mm x 48.5 mm). The maximum power increases to 160 kW at 14,500 rpm (previously 141 kW), and the maximum torque reaches 113 Nm at 12,500 rpm.
The piston is now made of forged aluminum. Now, each of these components (there are 4 units) weighs 5 percent lighter than the previous model, while increasing its strength and durability. Another detail, the camshaft is given a special coating called Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) to reduce friction by up to 35 percent when compared to the same components without DLC coating. Connecting rods (konrod) use titanium material, so this part is reduced by 50 percent weight.
The new technology in this superbike is the Built-in Bottom Bypass, a cooling water circulation system that is flowed directly from the radiator to the main component of the water jacket . Then, there is the New Multi-point Piston Jet, which sprays cooling lubricant on the piston from various directions to maintain piston temperature and reduce excess friction.
The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is offered in two variants, the STD type in black (Matte Pearl Morion Black), and the SP type with the distinctive Honda Tricolor colors. Both are marketed at a price of IDR 990 million (US$ 66,870) for the STD and IDR 1.10 billion for the SP, on the road Jakarta.
