As part of the authorized dealership, Wearnes Automotive Thailand will undertake all sales, after-sales, marketing and branding activities for Lotus vehicles in Thailand.
Geoff Dowding, executive director, sales and aftersales, Lotus Cars, commented: "We're delighted to extend our existing relationship with the Wearnes Group into Thailand. This is an important market for us as we continue the transformation of the Lotus business and brand. Wearnes' experience in this market, as well as its knowledge of Lotus from its businesses in Hong Kong and Singapore, will be crucial to our success."
Andre Roy, chief executive officer, Wearnes Automotive, Singapore, said: "Lotus is an iconic British sports car brand with a rich racing heritage. We are honored to have the opportunity to work together with Wearnes Automotive Thailand to promote the Lotus brand that has produced so many highly desirable and stunning sports cars. We are excited and looking forward to growing the brand's presence in Thailand as the third market for Lotus in Asia Pacific region under Wearnes Automotive Group, after Hong Kong and Singapore."
"'Wearnes Automotive Thailand will actively penetrate the sports car market in Thailand reinforcing the Lotus brand with its "Driver to Driver" and "Simplify, add lightness" strategy highlighting the ultimate in car and design innovation with high performance and lightweight, which has won the hearts of sports car aficionados around the world for more than 73 years," said Mr. Teeraphong Rodloy, General Manager of Wearnes Automotive Thailand.
"Exceptional highlights to be showcased for Lotus Cars 'fans' in Thailand in 2021 are the last batch of Exige Sport 350 and Elise Sport 220 models available for inspection in August 2021; and a total of 6 final editions (three of each model) will be made available within this year," added Mr. Teeraphong.

As for the bespoke and exclusive Elise Sport 220, it is one of the purest, most engaging sports cars ever built, enhanced by an addictive, motorsport-inspired exhaust notes to perfectly complement the race car responses, providing an enthralling experience on the open road and even more natural on the track.
The Lotus Story in Thailand will continue with the launch in 2022 of a new icon: Emira - a car that doesn't just turn heads but turns conventional thinking on the head, with its exotic supercar looks, everyday usability and enhanced comfort combined with class-leading Lotus driving dynamics.
This latest generation of Lotus Cars was recently launched in July 2021 in Hethel, Norfolk, United Kingdom where the iconic British sports car brand with a colourful racing heritage is headquartered; and is expected to be introduced to the Thai market in late 2022.
Lotus Cars was founded in 1948 by Colin Chapman and Colin Dare when Chapman built his first race car in a garage. Remaining true to the ethos of the founder, Lotus stands alone as a brand dedicated to pure drivers' cars.
The marque had achieved remarkable motor racing success with Team Lotus in Formula One starting with its first Grand Prix win in 1960 in Monaco. By 1994, they had won a total of 79 Grand Prix races with Lotus constructed cars.
Today, Lotus manufactures both sports cars and racing cars dedicated to innovative engineering, cutting-edge technologies and advanced materials. Each Lotus car is built by hand, tested around the famous test track at the factory in Hethel, and assured of performance through efficient, lightweight construction.
A line-up of Lotus Exige Sport 350 and Elise Sport 220 cars will be on display at Wearnes Automotive Thailand showroom on Ramkhamhaeng Road, which is expected to be completed and open for service within fourth quarter of 2021.
