SAIC's new MG4 EV has received the "Made in Thailand" (MiT) certification, becoming the first electric vehicle to achieve this distinction in Thailand.
The MiT certification is issued by the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and aims to enhance the competitiveness of locally manufactured products within the Thai market.
Products bearing the MiT certification are reported to receive preferential consideration in government procurement processes.
This creates opportunities for SAIC's electric vehicles to be included in government acquisitions, thereby supporting the promotion of clean energy transportation in Thailand.
Furthermore, the MiT certification serves as a mark of quality, enhancing the product's credibility and strengthening the trust between the company, its partners, and consumers.
Zhao Feng, President of SAIC Motor-CP, commented, "The all-new MG4 EV is MG's first global model, recognised internationally for its driving performance, stylish design, affordability, and comprehensive safety features. It was awarded '2023 Electric Vehicle of the Year' in Thailand. To further strengthen customer confidence, MG offers a 'Three Electric Systems Lifetime Warranty' covering the high-voltage battery and motor system. This makes MG the first and only brand in Thailand to provide such a service, ensuring reliable long-term use for consumers and reinforcing Thai consumers' trust in our products."
