Maruti Suzuki prepares facelifted XL7, Ertiga for potential launch
Auto Industry, 7 Oct '26
Maruti Suzuki launched the 2027 model year refresh of the XL7 in Indonesia earlier this year.
Following its ASEAN debut a few months ago, the refreshed seven-seater could soon be introduced in the Philippines.
Recently, Suzuki Philippines Inc. received regulatory approval for two upcoming passenger vehicles powered by a 1,462cc engine. This equates to a displacement of 1.5 litres, which is the engine capacity used by the XL7 and Ertiga. With a reference mass of up to 1,140kg, the vehicles are similar in weight to the XL7 and the seven-seater Ertiga MPV.
Like the current XL7 and Ertiga mild-hybrid models already available in the country, the 1.5-litre engine will likely continue to produce 103PS and 138Nm of torque. In addition, a choice of a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission will likely be available for the 2027 XL7 and Ertiga.
In terms of styling, the 2027 XL7 and Ertiga MPVs feature redesigned front fascias with sportier and bolder grilles, revised LED headlights on higher-grade models, refreshed bumpers, new alloy wheel designs, an optional two-tone exterior paint finish and updated LED taillights.
In terms of equipment, the 2027 XL7 and Ertiga could be available with additional features such as a 360-degree camera, a new touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an Arkamys sound system, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a revised dashboard design.
Both the current-generation Ertiga and XL7 have been on the market for several years, but Suzuki has updated the two MPVs with revised exteriors and additional features. As they are already available in Indonesia, Suzuki Philippines could be preparing to introduce both models in the country.
