Nissan discontinues Almera VL Turbo N-Sport for 2023
Car Guide, 25 Jan '23
Nissan has quietly discontinued the top-of-the-line Almera VL Turbo N-Sport variant starting this January. Instead, they have decided to replace it with the slightly more affordable Almera VE N-Sport.
Now priced at PHP 1,049,000 (US$ 19,200) or some PHP 49,000 cheaper than the Almera VL Turbo N-Sport, the Almera VE N-Sport still comes decked out in the N-Sport appearance package comprised of the N-Sport grille, N-Sport front and rear bumpers, silver-finished door mirrors, and N-Sport emblems.
As a side note, the Almera VE now sports LED front fog lights with no increase in prices.
Inside, the Almera VE N-Sport still gets the previously exclusive Almera VL N-Sport black soft panel dashboard, but loses the leather seats and 60/40 split-folding mechanism and center arm rest on the rear bench. Instead, the Almera VE N-Sport comes with black fabric seats and fixed rear seat backs.
Surprisingly, despite its N-Sport positioning, Nissan has also dialed back the safety features with the omission of 4 airbags it only has two airbags now. Thankfully, other safety features, including the advanced driver assist 360-degree camera, front autonomous emergency braking, and vehicle stability control remain untouched.
The 2023 Nissan Almera line-up is as follows:
Almera 1.0 EL Turbo - PHP 779,000
Almera 1.0 VE Turbo - PHP 949,000
Almera 1.0 VE Turbo CVT - PHP 999,000
Almera 1.0 VE Turbo N-Sport CVT - PHP 1,049,000
