Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda India, has confirmed that the company has no plans to re-introduce the Karoq in India.
In 2020, Skoda had launched the Karoq in India at a price of Rs. 2.499 million (US$ 33,530), ex-showroom. The SUV was offered with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 148 BHP and 250 Nm. The engine was mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Karoq was imported via the completely built up (CBU) unit route as part of the 2,500 homologation-free units rule. At one point, the company had even shown interest in getting the Karoq to India as a CKD. However, the focus now is completely on the Kushaq.
Meanwhile, Skoda is gearing up to debut the Karoq facelift for international markets on November 30th.
