Renault Group executives visit Korea

Renault Korea Motors announced on September 15th that key executives of the Renault Group visited Korea one after another to inspect the preparation status of Aurora, Renault Korea's new car development project.
Renault Korea's goal is to develop a hybrid mid-size sports utility vehicle (SUV) for the first time through the Aurora project and launch it in domestic and overseas markets in the second half of next year.
According to Renault Korea, Renault Group's Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) Vice Chairman Luc Julia visited Renault Technology Korea in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 13th to inspect the development status of Renault Korea's connectivity system and services.
As an artificial intelligence (AI) technology expert and co-developer of Apple's voice assistant Siri, he participated as a key speaker at the AI Summit held at COEX in Seoul the previous day and gave a lecture on AI.
Previously, Gilles Vidal, vice president of Renault Design, visited Korea in June and discussed the design strategy of Renault Korea's new cars.
In addition, Vice Chairman François Provot, who served as CEO of Renault Korea (then Renault Samsung Motors) from 2011 to 2016, visited Korea early this year as an executive in charge of purchasing and strategic partnerships for Renault Group to inspect the overall progress of the Aurora project and to meet with Renault Group officials.
