Sales of Daihatsu Xenia exceeds 670,000 units in Indonesia

Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) has claimed that sales of Daihatsu Xenia since the model was introduced 16 years ago has exceeded 670,000 units in Indonesia.
In addition, the model is listed in the top three of best-selling cars in the low multipurpose vehicle (LMPV) segment during the January-April 2020 period with total sales reaching more than 5,000 units and a market share of 10.1%.
"We are grateful even though it has been 16 years since it was first launched in 2004, in the low MPV segment, Daihatsu Xenia is still trusted and has became the 3rd best-selling model up to April 2020," said Amelia Tjandra, marketing director of ADM, through an official broadcast.
The sales performance has proved that Xenia is still one of the best LMPV since it was launched. The presence of Xenia is also believed to foster competition in the segment. In 2004, of only two brands competed in the segment. However, there are seven brands competing in the current LMPV class.
Daihatsu Xenia experienced a total model change of two generations. Grand New Xenia comes with more stylish designs and features, better performance and comfort, and is available with a total of 10 variants.
Daihatsu's sales performance in January-April 2020 dropped 27% compared to the same period last year, which was 60,706 units. However, Daihatsu sales during the first four months of 2020 has experienced an increase in market share to 18.2%.
In addition, the LMPV segment has experienced a decline in demand although it is still the best-selling segment in the national automotive market with 20.8% of the total market.
