Suzuki begins Access 125 local assembly in Indonesia

The Suzuki Access 125 is now assembled as a completely knocked-down (CKD) model in Indonesia. The scooter was previously sold as a completely built-up (CBU) model imported directly from India following its launch at the 2025 Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS).
Teuku Agha, 2W Sales & Marketing Department Head of Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), confirmed the change in production status to the media. Agha said local assembly of the Access 125 began in April 2026. The model is assembled alongside the Burgman Street 125EX at Suzuki's factory in Tambun, Bekasi, West Java.
"Access and Burgman are already CKD. Access CKD was available since April 2026," Agha told the media on August 19th, 2026.
According to Agha, Suzuki's Tambun factory assembles several models, including the Burgman Street 125EX, Access 125, GSX series, Nex, Address and Satria. Although the Access 125 is now assembled locally, its production volume remains lower than that of the Burgman Street 125EX due to limited production capacity rather than lower demand.
"Actually, the demand is the same, but Suzuki Indonesia can currently only supply Burgman in larger quantities than the Access. So, in terms of quantity, Burgman is still larger," Agha said.
He further added that there is no difference in the quality or production process applied to the Access 125 compared with the other models assembled at the Tambun facility.
"It's the same, there's no difference," he said.
However, the switch to CKD production has not eliminated the Access 125's waiting period. When the model was imported as a CBU, customers faced longer waiting times because units had to be shipped directly from India. Agha said demand for the Access 125 had exceeded Suzuki's expectations, resulting in CKD production capacity being insufficient to meet demand.
"Because demand was beyond expectations, Access is currently still on hold for one month," Agha said.
