Toyota Motor Philippines has officially entered the electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of the bZ4X, the brand's first fully electric model in the country.

The Toyota bZ4X forms part of the company's zero-emissions strategy and joins the Lexus RZ and Lexus UX 300e as its fully electric offerings.

It is equipped with a 73.11 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers two electric motors, enabling all-wheel drive capability.

The front motor generates 227 PS and 269 Nm of torque, while the rear motor produces 120 PS and 170 Nm. On a full charge, the vehicle can travel up to 570 km. Two drive modes are available: Eco and X-Mode.

It features a dynamic, angular exterior defined by sharp lines and muscular contours. It is fitted with LED headlights, two-tone 20-inch alloy wheels, black body cladding, LED taillights, and a power tailgate with a kick sensor. The 200 mm ground clearance allows the vehicle to traverse uneven surfaces and shallow water crossings.

Through building the widest line-up of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and introducing Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) via our luxury brand Lexus, we are now positioned to make BEVs more mainstream with the Toyota bZ4X, particularly as Filipino users' understanding of EV technologies, power mix, and charging infrastructure continues to improve."

The bZ4X is offered in a single variant. Pricing begins at PHP 2.699 million (US$ 45,690) for the dark blue mica with attitude black finish. The platinum white pearl mica with attitude black option is priced at PHP 2.714 million, while the precious metal with attitude black mica and emotional red with attitude black mica finishes are priced at PHP 2.719 million.

Each purchase includes a wallbox charger and a portable charger.
