Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has introduced two new vehicles to its showrooms this month.

In addition to the first-ever Land Cruiser FJ, retail sales of the all-new ninth-generation Hilux have commenced, bringing an expanded line-up of diesel and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants. The all-new Hilux adopts Toyota's "Cyber Sumo" design philosophy. The front fascia features C-shaped LED headlamps integrated into a honeycomb-pattern grille.

At the rear, the pickup receives updated lighting and an integrated deck-side step, providing access to the cargo bed. Styling elements vary across the range. The Conquest variant features a front bumper designed for overlanding and outdoor use, while the Hilux BEV incorporates a closed grille design to improve aerodynamic efficiency and differentiate it from its diesel-powered counterparts.

The all-new Hilux internal combustion engine (ICE) range is built on a 3,085 mm wheelbase. The Hilux 2.8 4x4 Conquest Auto measures 5,320 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width and 1,865 mm in height. The Hilux 4x4 V, 4x4 E and 4x2 G share the same dimensions. The 4x2 E Auto measures 5,320 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,865 mm in height. The BEV variant measures 5,320 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,845 mm in height.

Ground clearance is up to 312 mm on all ICE variants and 287 mm on the BEV variant. Across the range, the cabin adopts a driver-focused layout with revised ergonomics and practicality. The Conquest and V variants feature a 12.3-inch Display Audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Meanwhile, the G and E variants are equipped with an 8-inch Display Audio system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Hilux Conquest includes styling elements and additional features compared with other variants in the range. The interior incorporates upgraded materials, synthetic leather upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat.

The Hilux BEV features a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad and a Panoramic View Monitor. It is also equipped with eight-way power-adjustable seats and synthetic leather upholstery.

All ICE variants of the all-new Hilux are powered by Toyota's 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV four-cylinder VNT diesel engine. The engine produces 207 PS between 3,000 rpm and 3,400 rpm. Manual transmission variants generate 420 Nm of torque, while automatic transmission variants produce up to 500 Nm.

The suspension system retains independent double-wishbone suspension at the front and a rigid rear axle with leaf springs. Higher-grade variants are equipped with four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. Toyota has also introduced Electric Power Steering (EPS) on the V and Conquest variants. The system reduces steering effort during low-speed manoeuvres while improving steering precision and on-road comfort. The Conquest variant receives Multi-Terrain Select, allowing drivers to adjust vehicle settings across Dirt, Rock, Sand, Mogul and Mud conditions. It is also equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, a Panoramic View Monitor, seven airbags and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

As part of Toyota's multi-pathway approach, the Hilux BEV has been developed for electric mobility while retaining the characteristics of the Hilux. It features a ladder-frame chassis engineered for electric propulsion, incorporating protection for the high-voltage battery and electric axle. The BEV variant is also equipped with a shift-by-wire selector and Electric Power Steering.

The dual-motor electric drivetrain produces a combined output of 199 PS, with 200 Nm delivered by the front motor and 269 Nm by the rear motor. Paired with a permanent electric all-wheel-drive system, the powertrain provides torque delivery to all four wheels. Energy is supplied by a 59.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a driving range of up to 315 km under the NEDC testing cycle.

To support charging requirements, the Hilux BEV comes with a wall charger and home installation package. Charging is supported through AC Type 2 and DC CCS2 charging standards.

The Hilux BEV is also supported by TMP's network of authorised BEV dealerships equipped with EV charging stations, including: Alabang, Commonwealth, Global City, Makati, Manila Bay, North EDSA, Pasig, Quezon Avenue, San Fernando Pampanga, Santa Rosa Laguna, La Union, Batangas, Mandaue South Cebu and Mabolo.
