Ather Energy, a prominent electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has launched its first Experience Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
This marks the brand's second international store, following its debut in Nepal in November 2023. This development signifies a pivotal step in Ather Energy's international expansion efforts, as the company begins to establish its presence in global markets.
The newly opened Experience Centre in Sri Lanka offers customers access to Ather Energy's latest offerings.
It provides an overview of the flagship scooter, the Ather 450X, along with the opportunity to undertake test rides for a comprehensive understanding of its features and performance.
The establishment of the Experience Centre has been achieved in partnership with Evolution Auto, a joint venture involving Sensei Capital Partners, Atman Group, and Sino Lanka Private Limited.
As Ather's national distributor in Sri Lanka, Evolution Auto will oversee sales, service operations, and network expansion.
Additionally, the distributor will facilitate the establishment of Ather Grid fast-charging stations across the country, aiming to promote electric vehicle adoption and enhance customer convenience.
Commenting on the international expansion, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, stated, "We are thrilled to enter our second international market, Sri Lanka, where we are commencing sales with the Ather 450X. We believe the Ather 450X, with its emphasis on performance, is well-suited to the Sri Lankan market."
He further added, "its acceleration, manoeuvrability, and ride handling enable riders to navigate city routes and diverse terrains with ease. The EV industry in Sri Lanka is still in its early stages, and we are excited to contribute to its growth. Sri Lanka is a significant part of our global expansion strategy, and in the coming years, we will continue to explore opportunities in other international markets."
