Changan Automobile has launched the Nevo Q05, a new-generation electric SUV designed by Klaus Zyciora, Head of Global Design at Changan Automobile.
It features a spacious interior, connected technologies, safety systems, and a fast-charging battery system aimed at meeting the requirements of modern consumers. The Nevo Q05 is priced from THB 599,900 (US$ 18,339), reduced from the regular price of THB 629,000, and is offered with the "Nevo Care" package covering purchase, delivery, and aftersales services.
The Nevo Q05 features a battery that is supplied by CATL and supports 3C fast charging, enabling charging from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes. The Nevo Q05 entered the B-SUV and compact SUV segment in Thailand following its launch on May 28th, 2026. Changan has adopted a second-generation battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform for the right-hand-drive version, which is assembled at the company's Rayong facility in Thailand.
The introductory pricing places the model against BYD in the segment.
- Q05 MAX model (51.9 kWh battery): THB 599,900
- Q05 Ultra model (51.9 kWh battery): THB 679,900
As a compact electric vehicle, the Nevo Q05 adopts a design intended to maximise cabin space. The model measures 4,435 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. The proportions and dimensions position it against models including the BYD Atto 3, ORA 5 SUV, and BYD Atto 2. The relatively long wheelbase contributes to rear passenger legroom. Cargo capacity stands at 450 litres and can be expanded to 1,380 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Compared with Japanese hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) models in the segment, the Nevo Q05 offers a wider cabin. With a body width of 1,855 mm, it is approximately 30 mm wider than the Toyota Corolla Cross and 65 mm wider than the Honda HR-V. The wider body contributes to shoulder room for occupants.
Changan configured the Nevo Q05 with a focus on efficiency and urban driving. The model is equipped with a front-wheel-drive permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 163 PS (120 kW) and 190 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is claimed at approximately 8.2 seconds, while top speed is estimated at 150-160 km/h. The battery uses CATL's Golden Shield lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology with a capacity of 51.9 kWh, delivering a claimed driving range of up to 462 km under the NEDC testing standard. Under real-world conditions, including traffic and air-conditioning use, the driving range is estimated at around 350 km.
The charging system supports 3C technology and DC fast charging with a maximum charging output of 162 kW. Changan states that the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes. For AC home charging, the vehicle supports charging speeds of up to 6.6 kW. A vehicle-to-load (V2L) system capable of supplying up to 3.3 kW of external power is also available on the Ultra variant.
Changan has priced the Nevo Q05 from THB 599,900 within the compact family vehicle segment. Features including the CATL battery and 162 kW fast-charging capability form part of the vehicle's market positioning. The suspension setup consists of a McPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension. Further evaluations will determine its ride and handling characteristics on Thai roads.
The Nevo Q05 recorded pre-orders during the 47th Motor Show. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in June 2026. The first 3,000 customers taking delivery by June 30th, 2026, will receive the Nevo Care Upgrade package.
