Tata Motors has launched the updated 2026 Tiago range in India, introducing a comprehensive facelift for both the internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric versions of its entry-level hatchback.
The refreshed Tiago line-up strengthens its position in the affordable car segment, with the petrol/CNG model starting at Rs. 469,000 (US$ 4,915)) and the Tiago EV priced from Rs. 699,000 (ex-showroom). The model continues to compete with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, MG Comet EV, and Citroen eC3, depending on the variant.
The Tiago facelift marks the second major update for the model since its launch in India over a decade ago, following the earlier comprehensive update in 2020. The petrol and CNG versions are offered across six trims-Smart, Pure, Pure+, Pure+ A, Creative, and Creative+-while AMT variants are available in all trims except the base Smart. Tata has so far announced only manual transmission prices.
Price overview (ICE variants)
Petrol:
- Smart: Rs. 469,000
- Pure: Rs. 549,000
- Pure+: Rs. 599,000
- Pure+ A: Rs. 649,000
- Creative: Rs. 699,000

- Pure+ A: Rs. 749,000
- Creative: Rs. 799,000
- Creative+: Not available
The updated Tiago undercuts several rivals at the entry level, with its base price slightly below the Celerio (Rs. 470,000) and significantly lower than the Grand i10 Nios (Rs. 555,000). At the top end of petrol manual trims, it positions itself between the Celerio and Grand i10 Nios, while offering one of the widest CNG variant line-ups in its segment.
Tata Motors is also offering the Tiago EV with revised pricing, starting at Rs. 699,000 and going up to Rs. 999,000. The company has additionally introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, with entry pricing from Rs. 469,000 and a usage charge of Rs. 2.6 per km.
Exterior design updates
The 2026 Tiago receives a significant exterior redesign with a more upright and modern stance. The front fascia now features sharper LED headlamps, new brow-style LED DRLs, a slimmer and higher-set grille, and a redesigned bumper with a larger air intake and faux air vents. The side profile is updated with new 15-inch alloy wheels and revised wheel-arch cladding. At the rear, the hatchback gets connected LED tail-lamps, a redesigned bumper, and a subtler roof spoiler.
Additional exterior features include a dual-tone black roof, shark-fin antenna, and chrome-finished door handles. The ICE version is offered in six colour options: Daytona Grey, Pangong Pulse, Pristine White, Pure Grey, Sobo Surge, and Varanasi Vibrance (with slight variations across sources including Dehradun Dew, Matheran Monsoon, and other shades in EV-specific listings such as Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Dehradun Dew, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Grey, Pristine White, and more across the Tiago EV palette).
Interior and features
The cabin has been heavily revised with a new dual-tone dashboard design featuring a more linear layout. A free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now the centrepiece, paired with a digital driver display/TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. The AMT variants also receive a rotary gear selector.
Tata has upgraded the electronic and electrical architecture to support higher processing power, enabling over 40 connected car features, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and expanded connectivity functions. A 360-degree camera with multiple viewing modes and a blind-view monitor has also been added, alongside automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and follow-me-home headlamps. Tata has also reinforced the hatchback's structural rigidity to improve crash protection.
Battery, performance, and charging (Tiago EV)
The Tiago EV continues with two battery pack options: 19.2kWh and 24kWh.
- 19.2kWh: 63 PS, 110 Nm
- 24kWh: 76 PS, 114 Nm
Range figures have been revised:
- 19.2kWh MIDC range: 226km (earlier 223km)
- 24kWh MIDC range: 285km (earlier 293km)
Real-world C75 range is claimed at 160-170km for the smaller battery and 205-215km for the larger unit.
Charging performance has improved, with Tata claiming 40% faster charging. The EV can add up to 100km range in 18 minutes and supports DC fast charging from 10-80% in around 35 minutes using a 30kW charger. Standard AC charging options of 3.3kW and 7.2kW remain available. Warranty coverage includes a lifetime unlimited kilometre warranty on the high-voltage battery for the first owner of the 24kWh variant, while the 19.2kWh version continues with an 8-year/160,000km battery warranty.
Engines and transmission (ICE)
The ICE Tiago retains its existing 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine.
- Petrol: 87 PS
- CNG: 77 PS
Transmission options include a 5-speed and a 5-speed AMT across both fuel types, with paddle shifters introduced for the CNG AMT variant-marking a segment-first feature.
