Astra Daihatsu Motor launched its latest key MPV which was improved with SRS airbags and increased cabin comfort.

Its safety and comfort features cause the prices of all Xenia variants to increase by Rp 2.5 million (US$ 256). The prices now range from Rp 137-189 million (OTR Jakarta).

"This increase is inevitable yet it's still reasonable, keeping in mind that the R&D process performed cost much more than the values of the comfort and safety achieved. The presence of the various safety and comfort features on the latest Xenia also makes the customers more comfortable, safer, and prouder to use a Daihatsu product," said Suparno Djasmin, CEO PT Astra International - Daihatsu Sales Operation.

The Xenia with the dual SRS airbags had also gone through crash test performed in Malaysia, at the Asia NCAP safety test institute to be more exact. The Asia NCAP is a safety test institute which tests the quality of vehicle products designated for the Asian markets by adopting the quality standard of the Euro NCAP which is very well-known for its strictness. In the crash test, Daihatsu claimed that Xenia passed it in compliance with the standard defined by the Asia NCAP.

The presence of this improved variant is also a respond to the market demand towards a comfortable family vehicle with guaranteed safety that is fuel efficient as well.

Besides the SRS airbags, the Daihatsu Xenia also comes with improved comfort with a wider headrest design, thicker and more comfortable seats, and minimised cabin noise.
