Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) unveiled three new reference electric vehicles on October 30th, outlining their application in its contract design and manufacturing service (CDMS) business for automotive clients.
The vehicles are intended for markets with limited product availability and are designed to offer cost-competitive options and configurable vehicle platforms. The three models comprise two SUVs, the Model A+ and Model K+, and the Model K compact truck. They extend Foxconn's electric mobility portfolio into the kei-class truck segment, which is popular in Japan, bringing the Group's total number of reference EV models to 12.
"The new reference EVs join Foxconn's emerging ecosystem in electromobility that is accelerating time-to-market, time-to-cost and time-to-technology for our customers and partners," said Jun Seki, Foxconn's Chief Strategy Officer for EV.
All three new models were displayed at Hon Hai Tech Day 2026 (HHTD26), the company's annual technology conference. The event also marked the global debut of the Group's business-to-business (B2B) electric vehicles.
At the exhibition in Taipei, Foxconn presented components of its electric mobility operations, including battery technologies developed in Taiwan, covering materials, cells, battery packs and battery management systems (BMS). The exhibits also included electrical and electronic (E/E) architecture and powertrains for electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) and electric three-wheelers (E3Ws).
The right-hand-drive Model B was also displayed, providing an example of a vehicle developed through CDMS collaboration. Representatives from Honda R&D and Mitsubishi Electric Mobility separately discussed their electric mobility development activities with Foxconn during presentations at the event.
Model A+
It is an SUV positioned for the luxury segment and intended for higher-income customers. Its introduction is aimed at expanding B2B product portfolios in the B-segment SUV category, which is among the fastest-growing vehicle segments.
The model features in-wheel motor technology and a selectable electrical and electronic architecture (EEA). Its exterior design and interior layout are intended to accommodate applications such as flood-related emergencies, temporary living spaces and backup power for glamping and camping.
Model K+
The Model K+ is an SUV positioned in the affordable segment and intended for younger customers. Its styling incorporates elements inspired by Japan's city pop music era of the 1970s and 1980s, with a contemporary interpretation of the theme.
It is intended for B2B customers seeking to develop electric SUVs under their own brands, as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) planning to offer affordable vehicles with distinctive styling for younger buyers.
The Model K+ features in-wheel motor technology and allows customisation of its exterior, interior, driving range and electrical and electronic architecture (EEA). These options enable different configurations according to customer requirements and intended applications.
Model K
The Model K is a compact truck designed for commercial applications in the specialised kei-class truck segment. Its intended uses include last-mile delivery and mobility services.
It's design and specifications are intended to meet environmental regulations. It is targeted at businesses, municipalities and government agencies implementing decarbonisation measures. Foxconn also expects the model to have a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) through reduced energy consumption and maintenance costs. The Model K's design incorporates elements from Foxconn's Model T electric bus. The truck has a canopy-ready configuration, a lower cargo bed height and an extended bed length.
