The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 has featured a series of vehicle launches and product updates, with manufacturers introducing new electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, internal combustion engine (ICE) models and special editions for the Indonesian market.
Wuling launches Aira EV
Wuling Motors has officially launched the Aira EV at GIIAS 2026. Positioned as an affordable daily mobility solution under the "Fun Everyday, For Everyone" concept, the Aira EV is available in two variants.
"The Aira EV is the answer to mobility for everyone. This car is designed to support various consumer activities," Wuling Motors Vice President Arief Pramadana said during the launch in Tangerang on July 29th.
Wuling Motors Marketing Director Ricky Christian said the Aira EV's name is inspired by air, reflecting its intended role as an everyday mobility solution. The Standard Range variant is equipped with a 16.2 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of up to 205 km, while the Long Range version features a 25.1 kWh battery with a claimed range of up to 301 km on a single charge. The model is available in Starry Black, Galaxy Blue and Milk Tea, with prices starting at IDR 155 million (US$ 8,575) for the Standard Range and IDR 175 million for the Long Range.
MG launches ZS Hybrid+ and updates Cyberster
MG Motor Indonesia has officially launched the ZS Hybrid+ at GIIAS 2026, expanding its electrified vehicle portfolio in Indonesia. MG Motor Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Jason Huang said the launch reflects the company's plan to offer environmentally friendly vehicles equipped with advanced technology.
"Today, we proudly showcase this commitment through our New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup at GIIAS 2026. Each model is designed to deliver more in terms of design, technology, performance, and ownership experience," Huang said.
The ZS Hybrid+ is available at a special introductory price of IDR 299.9 million for the first 1,000 customers. Previously displayed at GIIAS 2025, it combines a 1.5-litre hybrid petrol engine with a 136 PS/250 Nm electric motor, a 1.83 kWh battery and a dedicated three-speed hybrid transmission. The cabin features a sporty design, premium materials and a jet-wing-inspired transmission selector. MG also introduced updates to the Cyberster electric roadster, including a new Irises Cyan exterior colour and several technical improvements. The Cyberster is priced at IDR 1.7 billion.
Subaru introduces all-new Outback
Plaza Auto Mega, Subaru's distributor in Indonesia, has launched the all-new Outback, which adopts a dedicated SUV platform in place of the previous sedan-based architecture while retaining Subaru's focus on comfort and safety.
Originally introduced in the United States during the 1990s, the new Outback features a more upright, boxier design. Compared with its predecessor, it is 1 cm longer, 0.5 cm wider and 4 cm taller, increasing cabin space and improving visibility. Ground clearance has increased by 7 mm to 220 mm, while the ladder-type roof rails support moving loads of up to 100 kg and static loads of up to 363 kg for accessories such as roof tents.
Subaru Product Consultant Victor Kirana said the vehicle's development philosophy is that "every road feels like home". Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder Boxer engine paired with an eight-speed CVT featuring a manual mode. The Outback retains Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and is built on the Subaru Global Platform, which increases chassis rigidity by 70% and reduces body roll by up to 50%.
BMW launches new-generation iX3
BMW Indonesia has launched the latest-generation iX3, priced at IDR 2.269 billion off the road. BMW Group Indonesia President Director Sunny Medalla said deliveries of vehicles purchased during GIIAS will begin after the exhibition.
The iX3 is BMW's first mass-production model based on the Neue Klasse platform. The iX3 50 xDrive features sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology with an 800-volt electrical architecture, combining a rear Electrically Excited Synchronous Motor (EESM) and a front Asynchronous Motor (ASM) to produce 345 kW (469 PS) and 645 Nm through BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, reaches a top speed of 210 km/h, and uses a 108.7 kWh battery offering a WLTP range of between 679 km and 805 km.
Mercedes-Benz launches AMG GT 63 Pro and CLC 200
Mercedes-Benz Indonesia has introduced the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro and CLC 200. Chief Executive Officer Donald Rachmat said the two models are intended to offer different customer experiences, combining performance and luxury.
Senior Product & Pricing Manager Kenny Wala said the AMG GT 63 Pro features a hand-assembled AMG engine from Affalterbach producing up to 850 Nm of torque. Compared with the standard GT 63, the Pro version delivers an additional 27 PS and 50 Nm, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 317 km/h.
The CLC 200 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine combined with a mild-hybrid system. The AMG GT 63 Pro is priced at IDR 9.8 billion on the road in Jakarta, while the CLC 200 costs IDR 1.58 billion on the road in Jakarta.
Lexus introduces all-new ES
Lexus Indonesia has introduced the all-new ES, available for the first time with both hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) powertrains. Toyota Astra Motor Deputy President Director Jap Ernando Demily described the launch as the latest evolution of the ES model.
The ES 350h Luxury is priced at IDR 1.299 billion on the road in Jakarta, while the all-electric ES 350e Luxury costs IDR 1.480 billion. According to Lexus, offering both powertrains provides customers with a choice of powertrain options as part of the brand's electrification strategy. The latest ES also features a redesigned exterior while retaining its sedan body style.
GWM introduces special-edition Tank SUVs
Great Wall Motor (GWM) Indonesia has introduced the Tank 500 Black Warrior Edition and Tank 300 Sand Beige Edition. GWM Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Bagus Susanto said the special editions align with GIIAS 2026's "More Than Meets The Eye" theme.
The Tank 500 Black Warrior Edition receives styling updates while retaining its 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol hybrid powertrain and four-wheel-drive system. The Tank 300 Sand Beige Edition adds a new exterior colour while retaining its 2.0-litre turbo-hybrid engine, four-wheel-drive system and multiple driving modes. Prices start at IDR 925 million for the Tank 500 Black Warrior Edition and IDR 699 million for the Tank 300 Sand Beige Edition, both on the road in Jakarta.
Changan debuts Nevo Q05
Changan has entered the Indonesian market with the launch of the Nevo Q05 electric SUV at GIIAS 2026. Changan Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Setiawan Surya said the launch marks the company's entry into Indonesia's electrified vehicle market following the earlier introduction of the Deepal brand. Targeting younger buyers, the Nevo brand follows the "Smart Drive, Easy Life" concept.
The Nevo Q05 is available at a special launch price for the first 1,000 buyers during GIIAS 2026, with the Pro variant priced at IDR 309 million and the Max variant at IDR 359 million, both on the road in Jakarta.
The front-wheel-drive SUV is powered by a 120 kW (163 PS)/190 Nm permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with a 51.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, providing a claimed NEDC range of up to 462 km. DC fast charging from 30% to 80% takes approximately 30 minutes. The vehicle also features 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability.
