Honda Taiwan has officially announced on May 12th the start of pre-orders for the facelifted Honda CR-V, following earlier dealership leaks regarding specifications.
The updated SUV will be offered in four variants across two powertrain options, with pre-order prices starting from NTD 999,000 (US$31,600).
In addition to the existing 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol model, the facelifted CR-V introduces the new 2.0 e:HEV hybrid powertrain to the domestic line-up for the first time. The range will include four trims: VTi-S, S, e:S and e:Prestige, priced at NTD 999,000, NTD 1,099,000, NTD 1,229,000 and NTD 1,299,000 respectively. The official launch is scheduled for June 9th.
Honda Taiwan is also offering an early pre-order programme. Customers who place an order before June 8th will receive a "CR-V Quiet Picnic Set" (limited to 500 sets), along with a five-year unlimited mileage extended warranty upon vehicle delivery.
The facelifted CR-V comes standard with a Google built-in infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, internet access and digital key functionality.
Other standard features across the range include an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power tailgate, the Honda Sensing safety suite and 10 airbags.
Hybrid models additionally include a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree surround-view camera, double-layer front door soundproof glass and noise-reducing alloy wheels. The e:Prestige trim also features a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a Bose premium audio system, a head-up display and ambient interior lighting.
Alongside the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the facelifted CR-V also introduces Honda's e:HEV hybrid system, which follows an electric-first, petrol-assisted operating approach. The system combines a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 148 PS with an electric motor delivering 184 PS, paired with a lithium-ion battery pack.
Paired with Honda's E-CVT dual-motor parallel-shaft system developed for the CR-V, the powertrain incorporates an additional low-speed gear alongside the existing high-speed gear for direct engine drive. According to Honda, the setup is intended to improve acceleration during gentle climbs and heavy-load driving while balancing performance and fuel efficiency.
According to Energy Agency testing, the hybrid model records an average fuel consumption of 20.5 km/ litre and has received a Level 1 energy efficiency rating.
