According to Vietnam's General Statistics Office, the total import turnover of cars and two-wheelers in 2010 saw a decrease both in volume and value compared to 2009.

In 2010, an estimated 53,100 cars were imported into Vietnam, accounting for a total value of US$ 960 million, which represents a 34.1% drop in actual number of units and 24.4% in value. In the first 11 months of the year, total imports reached 46,900 units (CBU), the value corresponding to US$ 856 million.

Two-wheeler imports also fell significantly in 2010 compared to 2009.

In 2010, it has been estimated that two-wheeler imports touched approximately 95,400 units, worth US$ 120 million. Compared with 2009, two-wheeler imports in 2010 were down 14.4% (9.3% in value).
