VinFast, through its subsidiary Xanh SM, has commenced operations in Indonesia. Xanh SM operates as a taxi company.
At the Xanh SM depot located in the Cinere area of Depok, West Java, numerous green VinFast cars were observed departing the depot one by one. The entire taxi fleet operated by Xanh SM comprises VinFast electric vehicles.
"Customers can order taxis via the application, by phone, or by hailing them on the road. The service is environmentally friendly as it uses electric vehicles," stated one of the drivers.
Other drivers noted that the service is currently in a trial phase. Rides can be booked through the Xanh SM application, and promotional offers are currently available.
"The promotion is ongoing until 17th December, with a maximum fare of IDR 120,000 (US$ 7.40). Any amount exceeding that will need to be paid by the passenger. The official launch will take place on 18th December," explained one of the drivers.
The driver further mentioned that the current fleet of Xanh SM taxis consists of only a few hundred units, and operations are limited to the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek).
