Volkswagen delivered as much as 514 units of the Touran to customers in Singapore last year. Citing its success is the performance, versatility and low running costs of the seven seating sports MPV.

Now the Touran has added a new variant - the 1.4-litre Touran Comfort. Equipped with the same 140bhp Twincharger engine with the current Touran 1.4, The Touran Comfort is good for a top speed of 202km/h and a century sprint of a leisurely 9.5 seconds despite sipping 6.6L/100km. More importantly with low CO2 emissions of just 154g/km, it qualifies for a S$5,000 (US$ 4,000) CEVS rebate.

Yet the comfort model offer a host of features like multi-function leather steering wheel, front seats with adjustable lumbar support, reversing camera, touch-screen entertainment system, panoramic sunroof, roof rails, 17-inch alloy wheels and darker-tinted rear windows and rear windscreen.

The Touran Comfort 1.4 is currently retailing with an introductory price of S$161,800. To facilitate the launch, Volkswagen has arranged a host of events for the whole family at Volkswagen Centre Singapore (Alexandra) and Volkswagen Centre Singapore (MacPherson) this weekend.
