Xpeng has officially confirmed its entry into the market in the Philippines during the third quarter of 2026, providing an update following earlier reports regarding the brand's planned arrival in the country.
The move is expected to introduce additional electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) options to the Philippines, increasing the number of electrified vehicle models available in the market.
According to the automaker, it will initially launch two EV models, with further product and launch details to be announced closer to their market introduction. However, based on a teaser image released by the company, the models are expected to be the L03 compact SUV and the X9 MPV.
The Department of Energy (DOE) has already recognised several Xpeng vehicle variants for the Philippine market. Based on the agency's listings, both EV and PHEV models are expected to be offered.
Starting with the X9 MPV, the EV version is expected to be available in three variants: Standard Range, Long Range and AWD Performance.
The Standard Range variant is equipped with a 94.8 kWh battery pack, providing a driving range of up to 535 km. It is powered by a single electric motor producing 320 PS and 450 Nm of torque.
The Long Range variant features a 110 kWh battery pack, increasing the driving range to up to 615 km on a full charge. It retains the same single electric motor, producing 320 PS and 450 Nm of torque.
The AWD Performance variant uses dual electric motors delivering a combined output of 500 PS and 640 Nm of torque. It also features the 110 kWh battery pack but offers a driving range of up to 580 km on a full charge.
The X9 has also been listed by the DOE with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This version combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, which functions as a generator, with a 63.29 kWh battery pack powering an electric motor that produces 286 PS. According to Xpeng, the range-extended X9 can travel up to 452 km in pure-electric mode and has a total driving range of more than 1,600 km under the CLTC testing cycle.
As for the L03, the EV version is expected to be offered in Standard Range and Long Range variants.
The Standard Range model is equipped with a single electric motor producing 245 PS and 264 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 69 kWh battery pack, providing a driving range of up to 530 km under the NEDC testing standard. The Long Range variant is equipped with a 71.2 kWh battery pack, increasing the claimed driving range to up to 600 km under the NEDC testing cycle. Power output remains unchanged at 245 PS and 264 Nm of torque.
A PHEV or range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) version of the L03 is also expected. This model uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine as a generator for a 37.2 kWh battery pack. It retains the same electric motor as the EV variant, producing 245 PS and 264 Nm of torque. According to Xpeng, the vehicle can travel up to 315 km on electric power alone and has a combined driving range of more than 1,300 km under the CLTC testing cycle.
With Xpeng scheduled to launch in the Philippines later this year, further details regarding specifications, pricing and market availability are expected to be announced closer to the brand's official market launch.
