Xpeng Indonesia will launch its latest electric SUV, the all-new G9L, in Jakarta on November 11th.
Ahead of the launch, the company invited media representatives to view the G9L before its official public unveiling.
The G9L's arrival in Indonesia follows shortly after its global debut on October 12th, 2026, at the Paris Motor Show in France. This means the Indonesian launch will take place approximately one month after the model's global unveiling, making Indonesia one of the first markets to receive Xpeng's latest flagship SUV.
Globally, the G9L is available with two powertrain options: Battery electric vehicle (BEV) and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV). The latter is an electric vehicle equipped with a petrol engine that acts as a generator to supply power to the battery. However, Xpeng will offer the BEV version of the G9L with an all-wheel drive (AWD) system in the Indonesian market.
The G9L measures 5,120 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,782 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,100 mm. The SUV features a three-row cabin configuration with seating for six occupants, with two seats in each row.
These dimensions place the G9L in the large SUV category, with a cabin configuration designed to accommodate families. In the global market, the BEV version is available with both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.
The RWD variant uses a single electric motor mounted at the rear, producing a maximum power output of 270 kW (368 PS) and 465 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is claimed to take approximately 6.8 to 7.0 seconds.
The AWD variant, meanwhile, uses two electric motors, with one powering the front wheels and the other driving the rear wheels. The combined output stands at 430 kW (approximately 585 PS), while peak torque is rated at 695 Nm. With this configuration, the G9L AWD is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.45 seconds.
Local-assembly
As part of its G9L development strategy, Xpeng follows the 'Global Car' concept, based on the philosophy of 'Global Standards, Global Production'. The G9L intended for the Indonesian market will be locally assembled at Handal Indonesia Motor's (HIM) facility in Purwakarta, West Java. Through this approach, the company aims to ensure that every vehicle meets international safety and quality standards.
Regarding safety, Xpeng claims that the G9L has been developed to meet the design standards of four vehicle assessment organisations: Euro NCAP, ANCAP, C-NCAP and CIASI. The SUV has also undergone 192 crash tests based on these four protocols, covering more than 110 types of assessments.
During its three-year development period, the G9L also underwent road testing in 26 countries and regions, accumulating a total distance of more than 6.74 million kilometres.
