The sole distributor of Yamaha bikes in Nepal has introduced the Yamaha 'RAY Z' scooter after the successful launch of 'RAY' in April, in the Nepali market.

On the occasion of the NADA Auto Show 2013, goodwill brand ambassador of RAY Namrata Shrestha and managing director of MAW Vishnu Kumar Agarwal jointly unveiled the 'RAY Z'.

The 'RAY Z' is a model developed to target young males and females with a concept of 'Aggressive Sporty Design'. It keeps the same outstanding performance of the 'RAY' model while giving it a sporty look and feel with a smoked-finish visor for a motorcycle-like image, aluminum rear wing-shaped tandem rider grab-bars, a new instrument panel with a carbon fibre patterned background, a carbon fibre patterned seat cover material, and dynamic colouring and graphics.

The new model adopts the same air-cooled 115cc 4-stroke engine as the 'RAY' with its smooth start-up acceleration and good pickup, SOHC, 2-valve, single cylinder petrol engine which generates maximum power of 7 bhp at 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 8.1 Nm at 5500 rpm. It has an automatic transmission for an easier city ride. It achieves 60 kmph from 0 in just 12 seconds and has a top speed of 85 kmph. The model provides a mileage of 53 km per litre.

Currently, 'RAY Z' is available in three colours black thunder, regal red and pristine white. It is available at all Yamaha showrooms across the country. For the launch period, the 'RAY Z' has been priced at Rs. 162,900 (US$ 1,600).
