T Map Mobility announced on 14th February, 2024 that the vehicle's built-in navigation TMAP AUTO will be installed in BMW vehicle infotainment for the first time.
The company said that T Map Auto, which is installed in BMW vehicles, not only provides the original navigation functions such as route guidance, map information, and real-time traffic information, but also adds advanced functions from the BMW Group to provide a convenient in-vehicle navigation function.
HUD (head-up display) and AR (augmented reality) navigation improve driver convenience, and in the case of electric vehicles, the optimal route through the charging station is guided by taking the battery charge amount into consideration. When the destination is set to the charging station, the automatic battery preheating function is activated.
If the customer searches for a destination in the 'My BMW' app and sends it to the vehicle, they can receive guidance on the destination on T Map or view the final destination they visited using T Map guidance in the My BMW app. It is also possible to view destinations added to favourites in the My BMW app on T Map.
T-Map Auto for BMW will first be applied to the BMW X1 and 2 Series Active Tourer starting in February. It will be sequentially expanded to the X2 model scheduled to be released in the second quarter and the new MINI line-up to be released in the future.
T Map Mobility and BMW Group began cooperation in 2019 with a real-time traffic information service and have been jointly developing navigation and BMW vehicle-specific functions.
Park Seo-ha, in charge of data and innovation at T Map Mobility, said, "We will continue to work closely with BMW to create services that meet global standards in the domestic market in line with BMW's SDV (software-centric vehicle) strategy and future vision, and will continue to develop more advanced BMW customised T maps. "We will provide auto service.
