The Changan Ouliwei 1.4 has been launched in the China car market with the price starting at 52,900 yuan (US$ 8,600) and ends at 55,900 yuan.

The Changan Ouliwei arrived in April, but was only available with a tiny 1.2, until now. Changan also announced an official English name for the Ouliwei, which it didn't have yet. The name is Eulove and nicknamed as Kinky.

The Chinese name, Ouliwei, means as much as 'European Power'. Changan is keen on using this kind of names in China, hoping to impress the Chinese car buyers that they make sophisticated vehicles with a foreign touch.

The English name is a bit softer with EU standing for European Union and love for love. However, Changan does have serious plans to enter the European car market in the future and the Eulove will be one of the cars going. Whether the name works on the old continent, where most citizens hate the EU, is however not exactly sure.

The 1.4-litre engine puts out 101 HP and 135 NM. The 1.2 has 72 HP and 117 NM. Both are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The 1.2 is priced from 47,900 yuan to 49,900 yuan. That's 29 more horses for 5,000 yuan more.
