On June 11th in Hue City, Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company (Kim Long Motor) and Viettel Post Joint Stock (Viettel Post) officially signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement focused on developing the Kimlong vehicle distribution network, logistics services and technology solutions.
The agreement represents an expansion of cooperation between the two Vietnamese companies operating in the automotive manufacturing and logistics technology sectors. The collaboration covers transport solutions, vehicle distribution, logistics services and international market activities.
Expanding vehicle distribution in Vietnam and overseas
Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in developing and expanding the distribution network for Kim Long Motor commercial vehicles in Vietnam and in countries where the Viettel Group has investments.
In Vietnam, Viettel Post will utilise its customer network to distribute vehicles across the group's internal operations, existing Viettel Post customers, logistics and e-commerce businesses, and residential markets.
Viettel Post provides domestic and international parcel delivery services in Vietnam.
For international markets, the two companies will coordinate the export of Kim Long Motor products through Viettel's overseas network and affiliated entities, with the objective of increasing the availability of the vehicles in overseas markets.
Parts supply, after-sales support and EV infrastructure
The partnership also includes the development of a nationwide distribution system for components, spare parts and replacement materials through Viettel Post's network of post offices and logistics centres. The initiative is intended to support after-sales services and parts distribution.
In the field of electric vehicle infrastructure, the two companies have agreed to study and jointly invest in charging and battery-swapping stations for electric vehicles at locations managed by Viettel Post.
At the same time, the partners will expand the use of Kimlong vehicles within the Viettel Post network. Initial pilot programmes involving electric vans and trucks will be launched in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with plans for expansion to other parts of the country. The two parties will also continue researching and developing vehicle models tailored to Viettel Post's operational requirements.
Broader cooperation in logistics and supply chains
The collaboration extends beyond vehicles to include logistics and supply chain services, such as courier delivery, transportation for internal and commercial operations, and integrated end-to-end logistics solutions.
The two companies will also cooperate in import-export services, freight forwarding, the supply of manufacturing materials, goods packaging, and the development of warehousing and retail distribution systems for Kim Long Motor products throughout Vietnam.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dao Viet Anh, Chief Executive Officer of Kim Long Motor, said the partnership would support the development of a transport network integrating technology and logistics. He added that Kimlong commercial vehicles would be introduced to additional international markets.
Colonel Phung Van Cuong, Chief Executive Officer of Viettel Post, said the cooperation would expand the company's operational activities and logistics services. He noted that the adoption of new transport solutions, including electric vehicles, would support operational requirements and the development objectives of both companies in line with government and group directives.
