Segment Y : Lifan 720 to get 1.5-litre engine in China, launch by December

The Lifan 720 will now come in China car market with a new 1.5-litre engine.

The Lifan 720 1.5 will debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and it will be launched in the China car market in early December. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder has an output of 109 HP and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Lifan 720 hit the Chinese auto market in November last year. The price starts at 66,800 yuan (US$ 10,900) and ends at 79,800 yuan. The lone engine is a 1.8-litre with 133 HP, mated to a 5-speed manual.

The new 1.5 will bring price down to about 60,000 yuan. Lifan is also working on an automatic gearbox for the 720 but it will only go with the 1.8-litre engine.
