Luxeed, a vehicle brand under the Chery Group, is preparing to enter the Indonesian automotive market, with its official introduction scheduled for early 2027, subject to the plans proceeding as expected.
The Luxeed V9, a full-size multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), is among the models being considered for an earlier launch. The possibility of the V9 entering Indonesia has gained attention following the registration of its design in the Official Industrial Design Gazette on the website of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI). The document contains design sketches of an MPV with styling similar to that of the Luxeed V9.
It was also spotted at the Grand Square Hotel in Wuhu, Anhui, China, during an event hosted by the Chery Group. The displayed vehicle was finished in glossy black. The Luxeed V9 made its debut in China on May 19th, 2026, with features including artificial intelligence and driver assistance systems.
In the Chinese market, the brand is marketed under the name "Zhìjiè", while "Luxeed" is used for international export markets.
Design and dimensions
The V9 has an MPV design with aerodynamic styling and an interior layout inspired by an executive lounge. The front features integrated headlights and a full-width horizontal LED light strip incorporated into a closed-off grille panel.
The side profile features a large body and a curved roofline designed to reduce aerodynamic drag. At the rear, a horizontal taillight assembly extends across the width of the vehicle. The V9 measures 5,359 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,250 mm, providing space for passengers and legroom within the cabin.
Powertrain and performance
In China, the V9 is priced between CNY 390,000 and CNY 510,000 (US$ 58,400-76,370), equivalent to IDR 1 billion to IDR 1.3 billion (US$ 55,610-72,295). The model is available with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations.
The powertrain includes a 1,500 cc turbocharged petrol engine. The AWD variant combines electric motors with the petrol engine to produce a total output of up to 527 PS, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
It is equipped with a 53.4 kWh battery pack, providing an electric-only driving range of up to 305 km. Its stated fuel efficiency is 14.7 km/ litre. The V9 uses an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) architecture, in which the internal combustion engine is not directly connected to the drive wheels. Instead, the engine operates as a generator, supplying electrical power to the battery when its charge level drops.
Technology and driver assistance systems
Luxeed was established through a partnership between the Chery Group and Huawei. The V9 incorporates software and electrical architecture supplied by Huawei.
Its equipment includes Huawei's Qiankun Level 3 advanced friver assistance system (ADAS), paired with an 896-line LiDAR sensor. Other features include second-row captain's seats that can rotate through 180 degrees, helmet-style airbags for occupant protection, an onboard cooling compartment and a touchscreen interface powered by Huawei's HarmonyOS operating system.
The vehicle also features a dual-chamber air suspension system and active rear-wheel steering. The suspension can adjust its height and firmness according to driving conditions, while the rear wheels can turn by up to 7 degrees to assist with U-turns and manoeuvres in confined spaces.
Potential competition in Indonesia
If launched in Indonesia, the V9 would enter the luxury MPV segment, which includes the Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM. It would also compete with electric MPVs from Chinese manufacturers, including the Zeekr 009 and XPeng X9.
The planned market entry in early 2027 would mark Luxeed's introduction to Indonesia. The V9 is among the models being considered for launch before the brand's wider introduction.
