The MG5, the third new model in the second generation of MG products, is headed for Chinese showrooms this year.

It will be based on the Roewe 350 compact sedan, but will be carrying the fastback styling of the larger MG6.

The MG7 and MGTF still linger on in MG showrooms but the addition of the MG6 and the imminent arrival of the M3 have already put spark back into the ancient brand in the Chinese market and will have the same affect as they enter European markets later 2011.

The MG5 is likely to enter the market with a 1.5 engine, which will be available on the Roewe 350, but the MG5 will be getting the 1.5T engine that won't be going to the Roewe 350. No specifications are available on the 1.5T engine as of yet.
