autoindustriya.com, 28 Nov '13

Mercedes-Benz Philippines, through CATS Motors, has just launched the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S Class, the brand's flagship sedan, in the country.

The new S-Class gets the Mercedes designation W222, showcasing a near complete redesign, taking much inspiration from the F700 concept revealed earlier by the brand.

The S-Class gets larger headlamps, a more prominent front grille, creases and edges and a redesigned rear. Also, the new Mercedes S-Class does not have a single light bulb as it featuresfull LED lighting.

The new 2014 Mercedes S-Class Mercedes designers gave the S 500 a luxurious cabin fit for a flagship, with features such as 'hot stone' massage functions, a premium Burmester entertainment system with 13 speakers as standard, along with the Air-Balance Package.

Customers will be able to specify the First Class Rear option, lending more luxury for the rear occupants than the 'standard' S 500 variants. GPS navigation is standard.

As stated, the S Class will only arrive as the S 500, and will be powered by a 4.7-litre V8 that develops 455 PS and 700 Nm. Acceleration is quoted at 4.8 seconds from 0-100 km/h, with a top speed of 250 km/h. A 7-speed automatic transmission is standard.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class also comes with an advanced suspension system with Airmatic as standard. The new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S 500 is now available at CATS Motors dealerships in EDSA Greenhills, Bonifacio Global City and Alabang.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S 500 is priced at PHP 9,980,000 (US$ 228,063).
