UAAGI renames Radar Auto as Riddara Auto in local market
Auto Industry, 19 Oct '26
United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of Riddara electric pickups in the Philippines, has renamed Radar Auto Philippines as Riddara Auto Philippines to align its local operations with the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) pickup brand's global naming convention.
Riddara is an electric pickup sub-brand of Geely. It is known as Radar in China and uses the Riddara name in export markets. Unlike Geely, which handles distribution in the Philippines through its own operations, Riddara is distributed locally by UAAGI, which also represents BAIC, Chery, Foton and Jetour.
The rebranding brings UAAGI's electrified pickup portfolio under the Riddara name in the Philippines and forms part of the brand's plans to expand its international market presence and develop its overseas business.
Riddara entered the Philippine market in October 2025 under the Radar name, launching the RD6 electric pickup. The unibody pickup is available in two variants: the fully electric RD6 Econ and the plug-in hybrid RD6 EM-P. The RD6 Econ is offered with two-wheel drive (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD), while the RD6 EM-P is available exclusively with 4WD. Both versions feature vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability. The 2WD RD6 Econ is also available in two long-bed variants designed to accommodate longer items.
Since entering the market, the brand has undertaken product launches, dealership development, test-drive activities and participation in automotive industry events, while developing an owner community. These activities form part of its operations in the Philippines.
"Our customers chose this EV pickup for the outstanding value and performance it delivers, and that remains unchanged. Adopting the Riddara name aligns our Philippine operations with the brand's global identity and reinforces our commitment to the strength, technology, and innovation behind it. This marks a defining step forward for the brand's development, further strengthening its global presence and setting the stage for its next phase of growth in the Philippine market," said Rommel Sytin, chairman of UAAGI Auto Group.
UAAGI has confirmed that the rebranding will not affect existing owners' access to customer care or aftersales services. Owner and vehicle records will remain unchanged, and warranty coverage, spare parts, aftersales support and dealer assistance will continue.
The Riddara name will be used across dealerships, branding and marketing communications. Dealerships will remain the primary point of contact for owners seeking information, assistance or servicing.
