Volkswagen Taiwan, which has introduced several new models this year, officially launched the new Caddy Cargo on October 14th.
This light commercial vehicle, used by small and medium-sized businesses as well as entrepreneurs, has undergone an update, combining intelligent driving technology with a fully digital interior.
The new model achieved a five-star safety rating in the 2025 Euro NCAP light commercial vehicle crash test. The short-wheelbase automatic Caddy Cargo is priced at NTD 898,000 (US$ 29,300).
Built on Volkswagen Group's MQB modular platform, the Caddy Cargo is powered by a 1.5-litre inline-four TSI turbocharged petrol engine delivering 116 PS and 219 Nm of torque.
It features active cylinder deactivation (ACT) technology to improve fuel efficiency. The exterior continues the design language of the Caddy family, while features such as the electronic parking brake (EPB), auto hold, and H7 automatic light-sensing headlights provide additional driving functionality.
The 2025 Caddy Cargo offers a modernised cockpit with a digital cockpit instrument cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen display. The infotainment system supports Bluetooth connectivity and vehicle settings.
The cargo area has a flat floor capable of accommodating Euro-standard pallets and includes a glass partition and an independent lock for the right-side sliding door. The design is suitable for retail deliveries, food logistics, and other professional applications.
It is available across Taiwan and will be officially displayed at Volkswagen Business Hotel showrooms nationwide from next week.
