Volkswagen launches refreshed Jetta
On February 17th, Volkswagen India launched the Jetta facelift in Mumbai with prices starting at Rs. 1,387,000 (US$ 22,280), ex-showroom, Mumbai.
The new version comes with changes to the exterior and interior.
It gets an updated front fascia with a triple-slat chrome grille, new front bumper with re-designed fog-lights and bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights for the Highline variant. The rear sees newly-designed tail-lights. A new blue shade has also been added to the list of colour options available.
Inside, the Jetta gets the new, three-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel, new twin-tube instrument cluster, an airbag de-activation switch and fatigue detection system. All variants will now have cruise control as standard.
There are no mechanical changes to the sedan.
The petrol variant is powered by a 1.4-litre TSI engine capable of 122 PS (120.28 BHP) and 200 Nm and is matched to a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel uses a 2-litre TDI developing 140 PS (138.02 BHP) and 320 Nm and is paired to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed DSG automatic.
The Jetta petrol delivers 14.69 km/l, the diesel manual version gives 19.33 km/l and the diesel automatic returns 16.96 km/l.
Prices:-Petrol (Trendline and Comfortline) - Rs. 1,387,000 to Rs. 1,536,000.
Diesel MT (Trendline, Comfortline and Highline) - Rs. 1,501,000 to Rs. 1,876,000.
Diesel AT (Highline) - Rs. 1,977,000.
