BMW appoints president, new chief executive officer

BMW Group announces the appointment of Rene Gerhard as President and the new chief executive officer (CEO) of BMW Group Thailand takes over from Aleksandr Baraka, who moves to assume the position of president and CEO of BMW Group Poland, this will be effective from 1st May 2024 onwards.
René Gerhardt will take over BMW Group Thailand and brings with him over two decades of excellent experience with the BMW Group, holding senior management positions in Germany, India and Australia.
In addition to his current position as sales director at BMW Group Thailand, BMW Group Australia Gerhard has also held the position of Dealer Principal for BMW Sydney and MINI Garage and has worked with the team to successfully elevate BMW to the number 1 dealer position in Australia's premium automotive market.
Jean-Philippe Parin, senior vice president of Sales BMW Group, Asia Pacific Region Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa said "Gerhard's vision and commitment to change and cooperation are in line with our values, BMW Group, which will promote BMW Group Thailand and it can definitely move to the next level in the premium automotive market."
