Chery Tiggo 5 launched in China

The new Chery Tiggo 5 SUV has been launched in China at CNY 93,900 (US$ 15,409) and ends at CNY 150,900. Tiggo 5 is the largest Chery SUV till date; it is positioned above the Chery Tiggo 3. The Chery Tiggo 5 will compete the hyper competitive market with more than 30 cars from different brands for market share. The main competitors are - Haval H6 and Haima S7. Power comes from a 2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 139 HP and 182 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. Next year, a 1.6-litre turbo and a 1.4-litre turbo will be added to the line-up. The 1.6-litre turbo will get 156 HP and 210 Nm. The specs of the 1.4-litre turbo are yet unknown. The 1.6-litre turbo will be the top-spec engine, with the 2-litre sitting in the middle and the 1.4-litre turbo below.
