Haima introduces sub-compact M3 sedan in the Philippines
Top Gear Philippines, 19 Nov '13

A new Chinese subcompact sedan has entered the Philippine market.

The new Haima M3 which is distributed by Haima Automobiles Philippines, boasts about the A-segment car platform developed by Haima Automobile's Shanghai R&D Center. According to the distributor's press material, it took Haima engineers three years to design this model.

Haima Automobile Philippines, incidentally, is a part of the Laus Auto Group. "Haima," is a brand name derived from combining "Hainan" and "Mazda." Haima, as you may have guessed, had started life as a joint venture between the Japanese automaker and the Hainan government in China.

Touted as a 'new-generation' car, the M3 (we imagine this sounds nauseating to BMW fans) is powered by a 112 HP and 147 Nm variable-valve-timing engine whose displacement we couldn't find on the company's official website.

The only variant which is available now is the M3 Comfort 699, offered with an introductory discount of PH 30,000 (US$ 688.5) and priced at PH 669,000.
