Lifan 820 to be launched in China by 2014
carnewschina.com, 18 Oct '13

The new Lifan 820 sedan is to be launched in China shortly.

The new flagship sedan will debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and it will be launched in the China car market in early 2014. The Lifan 820 will be positioned above the Lifan 720 and will enter into a new market segment for the Lifan brand.

At launch the Lifan 820 will only be available with a 1.8-litre four cylinder with about 130 HP. Later-on a 160 HP 2-litre will join the line. The 1.8 will be mated to a 5-speed manual.

Prices will start at around 80,000 yuan (US$ 13,100) and end at around 100,000 yuan, making this 820 the most expensive Lifan ever.

Lifan does not go for the sporty dials, as all other local Chinese automakers do. No big screen, as all other local Chinese automakers have. There are lots of buttons all over the center console and that is finally in line with the rest of the pack. Materials seem good enough for the money.

Arguably the best looking Lifan so far. Design is inspired by a lot of cars, especially BMW and Audi but it ins't a clone like most other Lifan-branded cars.
