Omoda & Jaecoo has announced an update to the Jaecoo J7 line-up in Malaysia, confirming via its social media channels that the all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant now includes an accessories package as standard. The package consists of a side toolkit box and electric side steps.
The side toolkit box is listed in the J7's accessories catalogue and priced at MYR 2,000 (US$470), while the electric side steps cost MYR 5,800.
According to Omoda & Jaecoo Malaysia's official website, there is also a separately available 'Package A' priced at MYR 7,500, which includes both the side toolkit box and electric side steps.
When purchased together with the vehicle, the package price is reduced to MYR 5,000 under this revision. As a result, the locally assembled J7 AWD with these two accessories is now priced at MYR 153,800 (on-the-road without insurance), compared with the previous MYR 148,800.
Additional accessories available include a hard-shell side awning (MYR 2,600), tactical boxes (MYR 3,000), a roof rack (MYR 5,800), and a side ladder (MYR 1,500). Certain items are grouped under 'Package B' for MYR 10,000, which includes the roof rack, side toolkit box, and side awning.
The AWD variant of the J7 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine producing 197 PS and 290 Nm of torque.
Power is transmitted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 9.9 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
Standard features include 19-inch 'Aurora' alloy wheels, automatic LED headlamps, 64-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 50-watt wireless charging pad, seven drive modes, an eight-speaker Sony audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a head-up display, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite.
