iCaur Malaysia has announced that it will introduce its first all-electric model to the Malaysian market next month, with the iCaur 03 scheduled to debut on 9th September.
The SUV was initially presented in its Jaecoo J6 form in May 2024, before the decision was made to market it as the iCaur 03 in Malaysia.
Two variants of the 03 will be offered: the 03 2WD, estimated to be priced from MYR 145,000 (US$ 34,290), and the 03 iWD, with an expected starting price of MYR 155,000.
It measures 4,406 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,715 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. It has a kerb weight of 1,874 kg.
The 03 2WD is equipped with a rear-mounted motor producing 184 PS (135 kW) and 220 Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheels.
Energy is supplied by a 65.69 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, providing an NEDC-rated range of 426 km (approximately 355 km on the WLTP cycle).
The 03 iWD features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, comprising a 95 PS (70 kW) and 165 Nm motor on the front axle, paired with the 184 PS/220 Nm rear motor found in the 2WD variant.
Together, the system delivers a combined output of 279 PS (275 hp or 205 kW) and 385 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 150 km/h.
This variant utilises a 69.77 kWh LFP battery, which provides a range of 418 km under the NEDC standard (342 km WLTP, as referenced from the Singapore-market Jaecoo J6).
Both variants support DC fast charging at up to 80 kW, enabling a 30-80% state of charge in approximately 30 minutes. AC charging at up to 6.6 kW is also supported, in addition to a 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.
The Malaysian specifications will be revealed at launch. Confirmed equipment includes the iRoad suite with six selectable drive modes, a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 9.2-inch digital instrument panel, and a 12-speaker Infinity audio system.
A Level 2.5 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) package will also be available, incorporating features such as lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic jam assist.
The iCaur 03 EV is one of three models the company plans to introduce in Malaysia this year, alongside the 03T, a sport-oriented version of the 03, and the V23, which is expected to be priced in a similar range to the 03 and 03T.
